I’ve written many bank bonuses on this website. Bank of America has to be ranked as one of the best in giving out bonuses. For those who still feel this as a hassle, I feel that you are missing out on this gravy train. Get them now since these bonuses are like an endanger species.

I’m starting to think ING is the new Chase. Currently, ING Direct is giving out a $50 bonus for their new Electric Orange checking account customers. Click through the link, then apply now button, hit the continue button, and make sure to put in the offer code EM428 in the reference box.
In order to qualify, you must make 3 signature based debit transactions in 45 days after account opening. If you already have their ING Savings, then you are automatically approved. Simply sign through this link with the offer code EM428. With both accounts, you can easily transfer money back and forth. It doesn’t have the best interest rate since it’s only a checking account. However, it very convenient to have both checking and savings.

I was a little hesitant to open a Rewards Checking Account, but it’s all worth it and not as troublesome as I thought it would be. I currently have two Rewards Checking account at 4% APY. For those who want a Rewards Checking Account with up to $50K since $25K is too much trouble, there is ViewPoint Bank’s Absolute Checking paying 4.00% APY on balances up to $50,000 nationwide. You must have a minimum initial deposit of $100 and it comes with free checks. The account has no monthly service charges and no minimum balance requirements.

Branches are located in Dallas, Tx. For people living in Dallas, TX, your chance of getting approved is much higher. PerkStreet Financial’s $50 bonus is over. They now offer 2% cash back on for using their non-PIN debit card for 6 months with their online checking account. The 6 month period will start when your account has been opened. Make sure to make an initial deposit of $25. In order to get eh 2% cash back, your purchase must be credit or signature option(do not use your debit PIN).
Make sure the account stay active by doing debit card usage, online bill pay, withdraw, or making a deposit. Otherwise, there is a $4.50 fee. First book of checks is free and no minimum requirement. PerkStreet checking is best fitted for people with high debit card usage. With 2% cash back for the first 6 months and 1% afterward, this works just like a cash back credit card.

For those Rate Chasers out there, Southern Community Bank and Trust’s Ready Saver Account is giving out 2.00% APY on all balances. The account is available to everyone except for North Carolina residents. Minimum initial deposit is $1 and there is no monthly service fees. Interest accrues monthly and you must receive e-statement. They also have ACH to ACH transfer.
One important note is that you must sign into your online banking account monthly. There is a $3.00 fee per withdrawal for going over the 6 withdrawals limit. A maximum of $15K in electronic transfer but it seems that they do not enforce. They want to bring in new money, hence it’s not available for North Carolina residents since they have branches there.
Southern Community Bank and Trust has its headquarters in Winston Salem with branches in several North Carolina cities including Asheville, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Raleigh. I guess they’re excluding NC residents so they can bring in only new money. It has been reported that there will be a hard pull with Equifax for all new accounts.
